U szewca (At the Shoemaker's) Pub & Restaurant

General

"U Szewca" (At the Shoemaker's) is a pub and a restaurant with ambitions and atmosphere of the original Irish pub.

The history of "U Szewca" Pub begins in the mid-sixteenth century. Even then the tenement house at 18 Grodzka Street belonged to the shoemaker family and through centuries until 1999 there was shoemaker's workshop here. Hence the name of the pub.

When the other team took over the place shoemaker's glue was spilled on the wooden floors, and in the corners they found various accessories. The name came naturally. After all, they were "at the shoemaker's".

Then there were partitions to demolish, several trucks of debris, walls and ceilings to repair, the arsenal of antiques to collect, a carpet to lay and after three months of hard work "U Szewca" (At the Shoemaker's) Pub opened its doors on the 20th of May 2000. In the following months the offer became more attractive. Excellent shoemaker's kitchen was created, more old bric-brac was hanging on the walls. The restaurant got the spirit.

Today it is a genuine Irish pub, the only one in the city and unique in the country. All this in an old shoemaker's style.
