"... The house was behind me at Church Street. And when I looked out the window I saw the Church wall with a sundial with the inscription: “Time is running out, eternity awaits”…”

It was in this house where was born Karol Wojtyla, who along with his father and mother occupied two rooms and a kitchen on the first floor. As in Wadowice, you have to look inside.

The exhibition in the Family House of Pope John Paul II is intended to illustrate and commemorate his life and work in Poland, until he left it permanently, elected a bishop of Rome.

In the room where Karol Wojtyła was born and lived until 1938, with the adjacent to the kitchen gathered what remains of the former furnishing transported to Cracow after leaving Wadowice.

In the rooms, in cabinets are documents (originals or copies), items that were the personal property of Karol Wojtyla and his manuscripts and works published before 16.X.1978. On the walls there are photographs of Karol Wojtyla and places where he often stayed. There are also photographs of the many moments of his life, from childhood through school and student’s years, the adoption of the priestly ministry and the bishop, cardinal, finally, to the trip to Rome for the conclave. Shown are also books about John Paul II issued in different countries of the world.

In the museum are also pictures from the first and second stay in his hometown and paintings of the 20th anniversary of the pontificate of Holy Father. Visitors can also enjoy a multimedia array with memories of John Paul II different people from around the world also interactive tablets and devices allowing to listen to fragments of speeches of the Pope. Particularly noteworthy are the cassock John Paul II, including the first papal in which greeted the gathered on the PL. St. Peter crowd October 16, 1978.
