Complex of wooden buildings

General

Unit type:

Architecture of Iwonicz Zdrój spa is a unique example of a solid complex of wooden buildings in Poland, mainly from the mid-19th century.

It is a synthesis of the then widespread Swiss style and the late-Classical Polish architecture. In later years, it was expanded with Art Nouveau elements with various forms of folk architecture.

The architectural complex consists of free-standing buildings, located inside a former spa facility in a picturesque valley of the Iwonicki stream. With the exception of Mineral Baths building, it is a wooden architecture, mostly two-storey. The pavilion with the springs, the chapel and the band shell are also wooden.
