Budzisk established in 1970 is the oldest reserve in the Forest, and the only one having the strict protection area.
Budzisk (area. 328,5 h) established in 1970 is the oldest reserve in the Forest, and the only one having the strict protection area. In 1987 the territory of the reserve was enlarged to its present size. Its characteristic feature are complexes of springs situated one close to another. Some fragments of the forest kept their primeval character and are therefore under special protection. There are two categories of protection in the reserve: -strict – encompassing the area of 17,28 hectares -partial - on the remaining area. The floral peculiarity of Budzisk reserve are complexes of wetland where elms, ashes, spruces and alders predominate, which is very rare in other regions of Poland.
