The tower provides an extensive view of the Wigry National Park, the village of Stary Folwark and the northern part of the Wigry Lake. It overlooks a hilly landscape of forests and fields arranged into a breathtaking mosaic. The tower is located on a hill in the village of Leszczewek by the Suwałki Land Bicycle Ring route. The village of Stary Folwark, which can be seen to the south, is nowadays a popular summer resort. Towards the close of 17th century there was a manorial farm there, later incorporated by the Wigry Camaldolese Monks. As soon as before World War II, with the construction of two tourist hostels, this small settlement began its transformation into a tourist centre. In 1928 the village hosted a scientific research station run by Alfred Lityński PhD. Nowadays it is a construction site for a modern natural history museum – the Wigry Educational Station.
