The Kinga Vineyard in Stara Wieś

The Kinga Vineyard is located near Zielona Góra, the cradle of winemaking in the region, as evidenced by the information recorded already in the fourteenth century, stating that in this city and its surroundings grapes were grown and wine produced.

The Kinga Vineyard is located in Stara Wieś near Nowa Sól, not far away from Zielona Góra. The Vineyard was established in 1985. The first 40 vine plants of the Treasury Pannonia variety were brought from the vine nursery of Ostrów Wielkopolski. In 1996, the vineyard officially took the name "Kinga''. In 1997, during the great flood, the vineyard was destroyed completely - only one shrub survived. The new shrubs were imported from Moldova.

Today, the vineyard collects the dessert grapes from 2,500 shrubs. Wine production was restored two years ago – it is currently is served primarily to friends and relatives. Recent years in the history of the vineyard are also connected with the production of processed products such as: wine vinegars, pickled grape leaves, grapes finger foods and salads. Over 40 different grape varieties can be purchased in the vineyard nursery.
