The Diocesan Museum in Drohiczyn

The museum presents unique exhibits from the history the town and region.

The collection is presented in several halls. There is a Pope hall with paintings, memorial medals, coins and stamps. In the other rooms we can see some silver items like: cups, reliquaries, monstrances ( for example beautifully decorated monstrances from Jablonowski, Sapieh and Radziwillo families ), traces, candlestick. On a special standing we can notice richly decorated and laced chasuble, and in the show case there is a crook of Zygmunt Lozinski and Pius XII. You can also see old sculptures and paintings, and  original king files subscribed by Wladyslaw IV, Jan Kazimierz and August II. In the museum there is also the ollection of an old polish tin dishes , which caount over 300 items and is considered to be the bigest in the Podlaskie privince. Moreover a geographical atlas from 1648, which contains the world map, is to be seen there. On the map of Lithuania and Poland you can find Podlaskie prvince with Drohiczyn and Mielnik. There are old books and  missals. Each exhibit has its own history. just like the Virtuti Militari Cross from Kosciuszkowskie Rising or the black jewellery, which were worn by the wives of Polish men sent to the Sybir after the 1863. Or made in Syberia  Eucharistic Cup with two parts one of which was for the hot piece of metal which was put there to protect the wine from freezing.
