The largest institution of this kind in Poland and one of the largest in Europe, opened in 1995, it not only collects, but also deals with the restoration of historic vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, airplanes, prams, bicycles, motorcycles and tanks. The oldest vehicle is a TITAN tractor, an American product from 1895. The oldest truck vehicle is a 1913 Mercedes, while the oldest private one is a Fiat from 1919. At least a dozen vehicles are being reconstructed at the moment, including the famous Polish 7TP tank and the TKS reconnaissance tank. Some of the Museum's true rarities in terms of displays include Joseph Stalin’s ZIS convertible, Loda Halama’s 170V Mercedes and convertible, and many other cars which transported such people as Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Jan Kiepura. All vehicles are restored according to the rules in place at the time of their creation. The museum also organises numerous automotive-related events and exhibitions.
