The museum presents the biggest collection of Art Nouveau in Poland.

The Museum is a restored Art Nouveau/ Secession style building from the early 20th century in the Old Town, compiling the biggest collection of Art Nouveau in Poland, including sets of glass, tin, silver, jewellery, pottery, sculptures, paintings, costumes and accessories, furniture, appliances and other home furnishings. The Mazovian Museum, the oldest public museum in the country, was launched in 1821. Collections are divided into five sections - Art, History, Archaeology, Ethnography and Numismatics. The Art department also displays contemporary art influenced by Art Déco, as well as art from the Far East and works connected with local artists. The remaining exhibitions depict the history of Mazowsze Płockie, with maps, old photographs, postcards, family archives, Polish coins from the Piast dynasty to contemporary days, as well as precious and rare banknotes. The Museum also presents its collections in the 19th century Granary (ul. Kazimierza Wielkiego 11b, tel. +48 24 262 25 95), displaying archaeological monuments of Kotlina Płocka and Mazowsze Płockie, and a collection of sculptures, textiles, ceramics and folklore paper cut-outs of folk from the Mazovia region.
