The former Radium Institute premises.

The building of the former Radium Institute, opened in 1932 at the initiative of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, houses the Society bearing the name of the great chemist.
The former Radium Institute premises are open to visitors, as is the education room, which displays temporary exhibitions. In the garden you can see a tree planted by Maria on the opening day of the Institute. In front of the Institute, there is a statue of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by Louise Kraskowska-Nitschowa, erected in 1935. Maria Skłodowska-Curie was a pioneer in the research on radium, and the educational hall houses biographical  video screenings showing the research the Nobel Prize winner was working on before she died.
