Królików - St. Michael the Archangel Church Complex

General

Unit type:

Originally a gothic Church from the second half of 14th or 15th centuries. Ruined in mid-18th century. Reconstructed in 1763-1804 in Baroque style.

Two chapels at the sides of the nave, the north chapel from 1863 and the south one from 1864. Rich stucco and polychromy decorations of the interior from 1790-1797. Mostly furnished in Rococo style (concerns the altars and ambos). The presbytery was reconstructed. Two stone plaques with bas-relief crosses from the 13th centuries were built-in in its external wall. In 2000, on the north side of the Church, foundation elements of a Romanesque Church were discovered.

Besides the Church, there is a neo-gothic bell tower from 1865. There is a boulder – an offering rock from pagan times next to the presbytery. Close to the Church there is a presbytery from 1930.
