Szczebrzeska Gate as one of 3 gates of the city were raised in 1603 - 05 based on project of B. Moranda and built by Błażej Gocmana. Probably during hte Moranda times there was a passage existed in the same place.
The mannerist gate with the attic was converted into 1770 - 71. Then with stone vases and sculptures St Floriana of both St Michał Archanioł of Jan's chisel and Jakub received the rococo attic Maucherów - therefore was called also Floriańska. She had to be impressive, because this way after bricking the Gate in for Janowicka (Lublin) from the side of Lublin ceremonial entries into the city took place. He owes the present architectural form to the classical reconstruction c 1821 - 25.
