A conical hill, often called the Fujiyama of Suwałki (256 m above the sea level), considered the Suwalszczyzna symbol. One of the most attractive beauty spots because of beautiful and extensive panoramas of northern Suwalszczyzna.
Mount Cisowa (256 m n.p.m.) – called Sypana (Built), Piękna (Beauty), Gulbieniska, and the Fujiyama of Suwałki – is the most popular beauty spot in Suwałki Landscape Park. There are exceptionally beautiful views on the vast low called the Szeszupa Depression. Its bottom is varied by hollows filled with lakes, meadows and peat bogs as well as postglacial hills (moraines, eskers and kames)
Mount Cisowa is a perfect example of a terminal moraine rampart shaped conically, whose summit is 77m above the level of the nearby Lake Kopane. According to one legend the mountain was built from the sand dug from the place where there is now the lake. According to another one the name Cisowa (yew) was given because of a huge yew which once had grown on its top. Currently on its summit there is a cross dedicated to John Paul’s the Second visit in Suwalszczyzna in 1999.
