The oldest historic architectural monument in the city, dating from the 2nd half of the 14th century. In spite of being rebuilt many times after destructive fires and the catastrophe caused by the collapse of the tower in1776, it has retained its Gothic style. The tower of 1780, raised in 1832, is in the Classical style. The cathedral has a triple nave hall arrangement with a separate presbytery. Inside there is a neo Gothic altar, late Gothic sculptures of Saint Jadwiga and Saint Anna, a Baroque choir and row of stone epitaph slabs. In the south nave is the early 16th century illustration of the Sepulchre of Christ in Jerusalem drawn on plaster. The neighbouring parish house is the former Catholic school.
