Church of the Holy Redeemer

General

Enhedstype:

It was designed by W. Wagner and W. Hochfeld, in the modern reinforced concrete construction, in 1915-1917 for the Lutheran parish.

The founders was a Beuchel family, the then owners of steel construction and cars plant (after the year 1945 called ZASTAL). In 1945, the Church was taken over by Catholics. The interior layout and architectural detail refers to the type of an early Christian basilica. Due to the excellent acoustics in the temple there are concerts held. In 1926 the famous oratorio "Quo Vadis" by Feliks Nowowiejsky was performed here, with the participation of the composer.
