A large number of birds inhabit the rushes growing over the lake shallows. During spring migrations you can meet ruffs making a display call.
The Lake Maliszewskie dates back to the glaciation period before the Baltic glaciation. The lake is 85 h large and is characterized by a very high volume of lacustrine deposits. The deposits are a rich source of knowledge about climatic changes over the past 130 thousand years.
