It was founded in 1958 to protect areas inhabited by the sessile oak outside of its range. It covers 41.04 ha. Its goal is to preserve, for natural and scientific reasons, parts of the natural oak forest with the sessile oak – typical for the Lubartów Upland’s sandy habitat.
