Mużakowski Park

General

Enhedstype:

Mużakowski Psark in Łęknica is one of the most outstanding achievements of the European gardening architecture of 19th century.

The park is located within the borders of Poland and Germany, along the Nysa Łużycka River, and it covers the area of 700 ha (500 ha in the area of Poland). The park was founded by the German duke Hermann von Pückler-Muskau. Its construction began in 1815 and lasted until 1845. The park is the best-known English-style garden in Poland. However, its flora is not the only thing that enraptures with its beauty - the same is true about the architecture: two palaces, orangery and classical buildings. The park offers a number of walking paths, as well as bicycle and horse-riding routes. Since 2004, the park has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
