The church was built in 1635-1644 in a style that came to be known as the Lublin Renaissance.

The church building includes a nave, a narrower presbytery and a top of a façade, divided by pilasters and cornices, with polychrome decorations depicting the following characters: Our Lady with a Scapular, Saint John of the Cross and Saint Teresa of Ávila, all painted by Władysław Barwicki – an artist from Lublin.
