The Park was founded on 26 May 1998 and covers 7652.48 ha. It protects natural and rural landscapes unique in our country, especially lands surrounding the Lednica Lake and the lake itself, as it is the birthplace of the Polish Nation, with traces of settlements dated as far as the Neolithic Age. The park has plants such as: baneberry (actaea spicata), corydalis (corydalis cava), gagea minima, violet (viola mirabilis), the European white waterlily, yellow waterlily, water violet (hottonia palustris); and various animals, for example: middle spotted woodpecker, red-breasted flycatcher, firecrest, red kite, sparrowhawk, the European honey buzzard, greylag goose, bittern, common goldeneye, and crane. The park is managed by the Group of Landscape Parks of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.
