General

Enhetstyp:

The parish in Gawłuszowice was endowed (by an uncertain document) as early as in 1215 by the then owner of the village, Krystyn z Obichowa. The emoluments of the parish was multiplied in 1447, by Cardinal Zbigniew Olesnicki.

In 1534 the second Church was built, which lasted only 150 years (it was destroyed by flood). The present Church, founded by Maximilian and Sieciech Ossoliński, according to the local tradition, was built in a different location, and it was completed in 1677. The consecration of the temple was made in 1685 by the Cracow Bishop Mikolaj Oborski. The most serious transformation of the object was done in the 2nd half of nineteenth century. The current polychrome was made in 1924 by Vlastimil Hoffman (it was strongly modified at a later time).
