The Contemporary Art Gallery in Opole is a self-government non-profit cultural institution. The main task that implements is the presentation and dissemination of contemporary art and enabling the public to the comprehensive development of personality. These objectives are realized through the activities of exhibition, publishing and education.

Presented in the gallery are also international exhibitions including: World Press Photo (annually since 2001), exposures to National Geographic, International Triennial of Graphic Art. There were exhibited artwork of famous artists such as Salvador Dali and Marc Chagall. In 2003 it was initiated a series of exhibitions “Art without borders”, within which regularly, several times a year are organized exhibitions of Opole artists abroad and artists from abroad in Opole
